Pasta with Beans

30 Minutes SERVES 2-3

Ingredients

8 oz of FRAMORE Pasta
14 oz FRAMORE BORLOTTI OR CANNELLINI BEANS
1 Stick of celery
1 carrot
½ onion
1 sage leaf
2 spoonfuls of tomato sauce
80 gr grated cheese (possibly parmigiano)
4 spoonfuls of oil (EVO)
Salt q.s.
Black Pepper q.s.

Directions

  • With the help of a potato peeler, clean the celery by eliminating the external coriaceous leaves.
  • Chop all the vegetables needed.
  • Put extra virgin olive oil in a pan and heat it. Then add chopped vegetables.
  • When they start sizzling, add FRAMORE beans (which are pre-made) and leave them season with all the ingredients. Add a sage leaf to enhance the flavor.
  • Add to your ingredients a couple of spoonfuls of tomato sauce.
  • Pour a lot of vegetable broth (or chicken broth if you have any) in order to cover all your ingredients.
  • Cover your pan and leave them cook for 20 minutes.
  • Add salt to the broth if needed.
  • After 20 minutes, take a small quantity of beans and blend them with a mixer.
  • Then put them again in your pan and add pasta, which will be cooked in your broth, together with all the ingredients. Remember to cook it just a couple of minutes less than cooking time, in order to get an “al dente” texture.
  • Once ready, do not immediately serve your dish: turn off the heat and leave the pan with the lid to rest a couple of minutes.
  • Then, your pasta with beans is ready to be served: add just a little extra virgin olive oil.
